/Kerinji Graveyard

This graveyard lies 500m west of Kirishima Jingu, between the remains of Kerinji and the Kirishima River. Before the law that made the Buddhist temple and Shinto temple share this graveyard (March of 1868), it was used as a graveyard for the highest preists of Kerinji. Graves that were placed between 1593-1827, are undated with no names. Old style tombstones are found in this graveyard. The tombstones gives you an idea of the oldness and the magnificence of Kerinji.
